About
The hands behind Orelle
A small Cape Town studio with a long view of what jewellery should be.

Founded by Naledi Marais
Orelle began in 2014 on a borrowed bench in a Woodstock warehouse. Naledi trained as a goldsmith in Cape Town and spent six years at a fine jewellery house before starting her own label.
She wanted jewellery that felt considered rather than loud: clean forms, honest metal and a finish that holds up to daily wear.
Today the studio is three makers and one gemmologist. Each piece is cast, soldered, set and polished in-house, then signed off by Naledi herself.
Principles
What we hold to
Honest materials
Recycled 9ct and 18ct gold, sterling silver and ethically sourced stones. Every piece is hallmarked.
Made to be repaired
We resize, restring, re-polish and re-set, for the life of the piece.
Made to order
Nothing sits in a warehouse. We make to your size and finish, so there is less waste.
What clients say
The hoops are so light I forget I am wearing them. Beautifully packaged too.
Naledi redesigned my grandmother's ring and it is perfect. Patient and thoughtful.
